World Serpent
Midgard serpent, or world serpent - one of Loki's three monsterous children who was cast into the ocean by Odin and grew long enough to encircle the entire world, where he began to consume his own tail. When he moved, he created whirlpools and became a symbol of the cycle of life, death and renewal.
